Combination of Kilimanjaro Climb (Machame Route) with Camping Safari (Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Tarangire) PAWA 1: 12 DAYS DAY 1: Arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, where we will meet you and transfer you to your hotel for overnight- Bed & breakfast. DAY 2: After breakfast, walking safari (approximately 3 hours)in the Rau National Forest (1,903 ft/ 850m), known for it's black and white colobus monkeys, then back to the hotel for a good rest and lunch. Later in the afternoon, wander around Moshi town taking in the local culture. If the skies permit, you can look at amazement at the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro looming upwards. The reality begins to really set in what you are about to undertake. In the evening, you return back to the hotel for a Kilimanjaro briefing and other leisure. DAY 3: Drive from Moshi (1,903 ft /850m) to the Machame gate (1750m), about 45 minutes, then begin hiking to Machame Camp (9,843 ft /3000m), which will take around 7-8 hours. DAY 4: Continue climbing from Machame Camp (9,843 ft /3000m) to Shira Camp (3840m), around 7-8 hours. DAY 5: From Shira camp (3840m), to Barranco Camp (3950m), takes about a 4-5 hour trek. You climb high, descend and sleep at a lower elevation. DAY 6: From Barraco Camp to Barafu Camp, at the base of the summit (15,092 ft /4600m), takes a climb of approximately 5-6 hours. DAY 7: From Barafu (15,092 ft /4600m) to Uhuru Peak (19,341 ft /5895m), takes around 7-8 hours. You have made it to the roof of Africa! After taking in the amazing view and for the reality of a dream come true, you then head back to Mweka Camp (10,171 ft/3100m) via Barafu Camp. This is an additional 6-7 hour excursion. A long exhausting day, but one that you will savor forever. DAY 8: Mweka Camp (10,171 ft /3100m) to Mweka Gate (2000m), requires about 3-4 hours of hiking. Then drive back to the hotel for overnight of a good shower and a well deserved rest. Readying your mind for the great experiences still ahead. DAY 9: The drive from Moshi to Manyara National Park, for gate viewing of approximately 4 hours. Overnight at a comfortable but basic campsite-full Board. DAY 10: The half day game viewing at the Ngorongoro Crater, then in the late afternoon clients can have evening walk to the waterfalls at Karatu, walk to see elephant caves, bird watching and cultural toursm. Overnight at campsite-full board. DAY 11: After breakfast drive through the highlands to the rim of Empakai Crater. It is probably the most dramatic and beautiful treks. Overnight at Campsite - full board. DAY 12: Drive to the Tarangire National Park for the game viewing then in the mid- afternoon drive to the airport to catch the flight back home or to your hotel for overnight-Bed & Breakfast |
